๐ŸŒผ Markets, Mics & Parking Debates

Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek & Roswell Events: Mar 26 โ€“ Apr 2

โ€‹
โ€‹Hey Neighbors,

A big welcome to all the new subscribers. We are glad you're here.
โ€‹
Spring is starting to show up for realโ€”farmers markets are (almost) back, daffodils are doing their thing, and yes, weโ€™re already debating parking in downtown Roswell again.
โ€‹
This week leans a little more intentional than packed: a legit comedy headliner, a standout live music set, and a few reasons to actually get out during the day. How's your Sweet Sixteen bracket going? ๐Ÿ€ Our family still has the Duke for the men in the game and North Carolina's Women are still going strong.

โ€‹
Anyone watching Paradise? NO Spoilers, but what the heck is going on? Who or what is Alex?? I think it's some kind of AI time-jumping bot thing. But that is just a wild guess.
โ€‹
I can't believe Easter Sunday is about 10 days away.

โ€‹
Let's see how this week is shaping up....

โ€‹Wayfair Goes Brick & Mortar (Yes, Really)โ€‹
๐Ÿ“ The District at Howell Mill, Atlanta (Metro Area)
๐Ÿ•’ Opening March 31, 2026
๐Ÿ’ฒ Free to browse, dangerous to your wallet

What: After years of being the place you scroll at 11PM, Wayfair is stepping into real life with a physical store in Atlanta. Translation? The โ€œadd to cart and hope it worksโ€ era is slowly giving way to see it, sit on it, then decide.
โ€‹

For spring, this shift actually matters. People are coming out of winter ready to refreshโ€”lighter fabrics, new textures, a little personality swapโ€”and being able to experience pieces in person lowers the risk of getting it wrong. Especially for bigger items (sofas, dining chairs, rugs), that tactile moment is everything.
โ€‹

It also signals something bigger: online-first brands realizing that design decisions donโ€™t just live on screens. They live in how a space feelsโ€”scale, color in real light, materials up close.

โ€‹
๐Ÿ‘‰ Expect more of this.
๐Ÿ‘‰ And expect your โ€œquick spring refreshโ€ to feel a little more considered this year.
โ€‹
Can't wait to visit the store!
โ€‹

Can you solve this weekโ€™s scramble?

โ€‹
โ€‹Spring, But Make It Touchable

What: If Wayfair going brick-and-mortar tells us anything, itโ€™s thisโ€”people are craving real-life interaction with their homes again. Not just scrolling, but seeing, feeling, and actually living with what they bring in.
โ€‹

This spring edit leans into that idea: pieces that feel good in a space, not just look good on a screen. Think lighter textures, a little color lift, and details that make a room feel like itโ€™s waking up after winter.
โ€‹

Everything here is under $50, easy to swap in, and designed to shift the mood without a full overhaul.

โ€‹Blue + Tan Glass Vaseโ€‹
Equal parts earthy and airyโ€”this is your โ€œI bought flowers just becauseโ€ moment.

โ€‹Salt + Pepper Shakersโ€‹
A tiny table upgrade that somehow makes even takeout feel a little more put together.

โ€‹Checkered Trayโ€‹
Graphic, a little retro, and perfect for corralling the chaos (or serving drinks like you planned ahead).

โ€‹Kate Spade Oven Mittโ€‹
Proof that even the most functional corner of your kitchen can have a sense of humor.

โ€‹Mint/Emerald Throwโ€‹
That fresh hit of green your living room didnโ€™t know it neededโ€”but instantly wakes everything up.

Savannah Music Festivalโ€‹
๐Ÿ“ Savannah, GA
๐Ÿ•’ Mar 27 โ€“ Apr 12
๐Ÿ’ฒ $$โ€“$$$ (ticketed events)

What: A full lineup of jazz, classical, folk, and global artists set across Savannahโ€™s historic venuesโ€”equal parts music trip and weekend getaway. Come for a show, stay for the Spanish moss, and make a whole thing out of it.

Drive Time: ~4 to 4.5 hours from Alpharetta (easy straight shot down I-16 once youโ€™re past Macon)

Where to Stay:

  • Historic District (best overall): walkable to venues, restaurants, and squares
  • The DeSoto Savannah โ€“ central, reliable, good for first-timers
  • Perry Lane Hotel โ€“ more design-forward, rooftop energy, great for a girlsโ€™ trip or couples
  • Airbnb in the Historic District โ€“ ideal for families or groups who want space

Family-Friendly?โ€‹
Yesโ€”with a caveat. The festival itself leans more adult / music-focused, but Savannah as a destination is very family-friendly:

  • daytime exploring (Forsyth Park, riverfront, trolley tours)
  • casual dining everywhere
  • flexible schedule (you donโ€™t have to build the whole trip around concerts)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Translation:

  • Great for families with older kids or teens
  • Better as a โ€œparents + one or two eventsโ€ trip than a kid-centered itinerary

Word Puzzle Answer: Mary Robichaux

" If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair." ~ Shirley Chisholm

Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek & Roswell Events: Apr 2 โ€“ Apr 8 Hey Neighbors, It's officially spring, yeah!! Hello April!! ๐Ÿฆ‹ I think the kiddos (k-12) are on spring break this upcoming week so traffic should be a little bit lighter but more kids out and about so be cautious of them playing in the neighborhoods. This means it's officially patio season and finding all the good places with patios to sip and people watch. I'm looking forward to the farmer's market starting again and the outdoor...

Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek & Roswell Events: Mar 12 โ€“ Mar 18 Hey Neighbors, Some weeks the world feels a little heavy, doesnโ€™t it? The kind of week where you briefly wish there were a big red button labeled pause. Since that doesnโ€™t exist, the next best thing might be doing something small and localโ€”seeing some live music, wandering a park, or raising a glass of green beer with friends. Lucky for us, Alpharetta has a few of those options this week. P.S. My current carbonated beverage...
